Position: Transportation Operations Manager

Location: Nashville, TN with occasional regional travel.

Job Summary: The Transportation Operations Manager will be a vital figure in overseeing and ensuring the seamless transportation of disabled passengers within their assigned region. This role involves supervising drivers and dispatchers, monitoring and reporting on monthly KPIs, and occasionally traveling to ensure operations' integrity in all serviced areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Operational Management:

    • Oversee day-to-day operations of the transportation services in the region.
    • Ensure timely and safe transport of passengers to their destinations
    • Supervise a team of drivers, ensuring they adhere to schedules, safety regulations, and provide compassionate service.
    • Coordinate with dispatchers to optimize routes and manage any transportation disruptions or emergencies.
    • Manage call center floor and address escalations.
  2. Performance Management:

    • Monitor, analyze, and report on monthly KPIs to evaluate operational efficiency.
    • Implement corrective actions where necessary to ensure operational targets are met.
    • Regularly review and provide feedback on driver and dispatcher performance, conducting appraisals, and recommending necessary training or disciplinary actions.
  3. Stakeholder Communication:

    • Liaise with vendors and key stakeholders to keep them informed about our operations and any changes or improvements.
    • Address any concerns or feedback from customers or vendors regarding the transportation service.
  4. Travel & Oversight:

    • Occasionally travel within the region to oversee operations, train new staff, or address specific issues.
    • Ensure all regional hubs are maintaining the company’s standard of service and compliance.
  5. Team Leadership & Development:

    • Foster a positive and collaborative working environment.
    • Conduct regular team meetings to communicate company news, updates, and ensure open lines of communication.
    • Mentor and guide team members, ensuring continuous professional development.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • A minimum of 5 experience in operations management, preferably within the transportation sector.
  • Strong leadership abilities with experience in team management.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive situations with discretion and empathy.
  • Familiarity with the veteran community is a plus.
  • Must be willing to travel as required.
